Sean leisurely entered the room and Alexa’s expression quickly turned to a frown. “Where the hell have you been?”
“Give me a minute while I think of where to begin.”
“I don’t want to hear it.” She said. “You can’t get lost again until after the Khad have left.”
Alexa realized she was being stared at. “Nice outfit. You didn’t wear that today?”
“Stop it, horny toad.” She kept a stern face but was amused by her little brother’s interest in her as he blatantly watched her move about the room. Alexa stopped what she was doing and sat against the table. “You’re a sick bastard. We’re not kids anymore?”
“Then let’s play grownups.”
She smiled for a moment. “I know you were just with that little tramp. What are you insatiable?”
“You just hate her caused Asim wants her too.”
She laughed as she walked into her bedroom. Sean’s attention was glued to her as she began to slowly undressed but then walked slowly behind a curtain where she grabbed a lavender gown and slid it over her head before she returned to brother to give him a good view. “Less revealing?”
Sean was shaking and he couldn’t say anything.
“Well I’ll take that as a yes.” She grabbed a silk robe and put it on. “Let’s hope Asim is just as speechless.”
“Asim? Why can’t you let the girls take care him?”
“So, you can have me all to yourself?” Alexa laughed out loud. “Asim is far too important to risk to amateurs.” She walked over and kissed Sean on the lips. “Besides you get Jihan in a few days and that leaves Asim for me.”
“He’s dangerous and I don’t trust him.”
She realized her brother was genuinely concerned about her and she was moved. “Stick around,” She ran her hand through Sean’s hair and smiled gently and then laughed, “maybe I’ll let you watch.”
Asim, aware that he was being followed slowed his pace. He could tell that his pursuer was clumsy and probably of no danger to him. He was in no hurry to meet with Alexa, so he was curious to catch whoever it was and quickly.
Turning into a dark section of the garden he disappeared behind heavy growth. Soon his quarry passed by looking around frantic to find out where he had gone. Asim was upon them in seconds his blade drawn and at his victim’s throat.
“It’s me!” Sammie yelled out. Asim threw her to the ground. “That hurt.” She complained. “You could have killed me.”
“I should have. What are you a fool?”
“I didn’t want anyone to see us together.”
“All the time letting everyone know you were with that idiot Basrilian earlier.”
Sammie bit at her lip and smiled. “So, you’re jealous.”
“You have nothing better to do than play games.”
“You didn’t say that the other night.”
“I don’t have time for this.”
Sammie jumped in front of Asim blocking his way. “Did the Khad get my messages?”
Asim stopped in his tracks when he realized that the vital intelligence the Khad had been receiving were coming from her.
“I told you this time I’d prove my love to you. What better proof do you need?”
“You did it.” They kissed deeply.
“You promised that my mother would not be harmed.”
“Don’t worry, nothing will happen to her.”
“After the Rebels are captured we can be together.”
“Yes, after they’re captured.”
“Well don’t let me stop you from your engagement.” Asim made no attempt to leave; instead he took Sammie by the hand. “I thought you didn’t have time for me.”
“Shut up Samantha.” Alexa would have to wait.
